Before bidding on a project or signing a vendor agreement, use this quick checklist to spot items you may need to prepare. Specific requirements depend on the contract.
Review contract requirementsInsurance and business, made easier.
What is a Certificate of Insurance (COI)?
A COI summarizes specified insurance information at a point in time. It does not itself grant additional insured status or change policy terms. Endorsements and actual policy language control coverage.
When might I need a surety bond?
Licensing authorities, permitting agencies or contract owners sometimes require a bond. A contractor license bond is different from a bid, payment or performance bond.
How often should I review my business insurance?
At renewal, and whenever operations, payroll, revenue, locations, vehicles, ownership or contractual requirements change. A conversation ahead of time can help avoid surprises.
Does my personal auto policy cover business use?
Not always. Coverage depends on the policy and type of use. Ask us to review how vehicles are being used before relying on personal auto insurance for work activities.
